01.Strategic Partner
Integral to all of the other services I provide, being a strategic partner as you navigate divorcing an abusive partner is the most critical. I'll be a sounding board for you and help re-train your nervous system as it responds to the onslaught of post separation abuse so common when a person attempts to leave an unhealthy or abusive partner.
02.Communication
Communicating with an aggressive abuser can be so triggering--especially in the early stages of separation and court proceedings. How you respond (or don't) can make all the difference in how the court perceives you and your case. Are you part of the problem? Or a reasonable parent who clearly has the kids' best interest at heart? I can help you untangle and disconnect from the chaos being thrown at you, while still appearing to coparent appropriately for the court.
03.Documentation
Have piles of emails and supporting documents to show the court? How you present your evidence and is critical in "high conflict" cases. The judge isn't going to wade through piles of emails or screen shots of threating texts, but these are both important pieces that support your claims. How do you organize and present it all in a way that the court will receive it and not lump you into the conflict. I can help you with that!
04.Coparenting and Self Care
How do you take steps to heal yourself? How do you support your kids and their emotional needs as they continue to be exposed to their abuser? Self-care and understanding the dynamics of coercive control and how they will show up in your kids is a vital piece of the puzzle and will have a huge impact on how your kids get through the years ahead. The abuser will use the kids to hurt you, damaging them in the process. You can counter that narrative, if you know what you're dealing with.
05.Court and Mediation Preparation
Facing your abuser in the courtroom or during mediation can be triggering. How you show up matters. I can help you prepare for that by managing expectations, setting boundaries, and showing up in your power. I can help you go into the courtroom with confidence and tools that will demonstrate your separation from the chaos presented by the other party.
